A range of conformity filter sets can be used to quickly and easily check the conformity of Lovibond® instruments to the main colour scales. Each filter set consists of coloured glasses representing a colour spectrum of the relevant scale, mounted in holders appropriate to the instrument being used. These are supplied with a certificate of conformity showing the actual values for each filter. Conformity filters are supplied in sets as it is good practice in conformity testing that users should test each side of the measurement range and ideally also in the centre. However, if required, individual conformity filters are also available under the category "single filters (certified)".

Conformity filters are assigned a nominal value and the company always tries to match this value as closely as possible. Occasionally, due to the individual process of glass production, it may not be possible to hit the required values exactly. The values achieved and the expected performance tolerances are of course always noted.
